Memorable inauguration for Olympic Stadium planned
Construction of Tokyo’s $1.26 billion Olympic Stadium is reaching its final stages. Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the stadium is said to embody Japan’s connection with nature. During the Olympics, you can catch most of the athletics events as well as some of the football matches at this remarkable 60,000-seater stadium.
The venue’s inauguration titled Hello Our Stadium will feature the highly decorated Usain Bolt, as well as a number of Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Called One Race, the Japan Sport Council has described this event as “a new type of race that has never existed before”. The Emperor’s Cup soccer final is set to be the stadium’s first public sporting event and will take place on 1 January 2020.
We recently visited the brand new awe-inspiring Mitsui Garden Hotel Jingugaien Tokyo Premier, scheduled to open in early 2020. The hotel boasts breathtaking views of the stadium. Watching the sunset is sure to be a treat from this tasteful hotel that resembles modern-day Tokyo.
Tickets to the Opening Ceremony are difficult to come by, with many feeling left out. However the fireworks display is sure to be a spectacle from these spacious hotel rooms.
