The Golden Rings Awards is an international award ceremony, held to acknowledge the best broadcast coverage of the Summer Games. Khaya is proud to have hosted all of the broadcasters that won major prizes.

The ceremony took place at IOC’s headquarters, Olympic House, in Lausanne.

Awards were presented across 12 categories and the winners were selected by an international jury comprising members of the IOC’s Olympic Channel Commission and members of the Digital & Technology Commission.

NBC Universal was the big winner of the evening bagging 5 Golds and 1 silver.

They won Gold as the “Best Olympic Digital Service”. Their other awards include Gold in both the “Best Equality & inclusion Content” category and “Best Olympic Programme” category for their “Coverage of the Games of the XXXII Olympiad”.

“Imagine” won NBC another Gold as the “Best Olympic Feature/Documentary”. Their “Friends and Family Integration” also won Gold in the Best Innovation category.

Their sixth award was a Silver in the “Best On-Air Promotion” for their “Tomorrow in Tokyo” broadcast.

TV Globo’s documentary on “Rayssa Leal” the 13-year-old Brazilian skateboarder won Gold in the “Best Athlete’s Profile” category. “Repercussion” landed them a Silver Medal in the “Best Olympic Digital Service”. “Anime” won them a Bronze medal in the “Best On-Air Promotion” category.

Seven Network from Australia won Gold for their “From Little Things, Big Things Grow Social Media Production. They landed a Silver in the “Best Athletes Profile” for their incredible story of “Kai and Saya Sakakibara”.  The “Jess Fox Gold Medal Split Screen” documentary won Bronze in the “Best Olympic Feature/Documentary” category.

BBC’s “Today at the Games” won Silver as the “Best Olympic Programme”. They also snatched a Silver for their Social Media campaign held on TikTok.

NHK’s “Real-time sign language commentary with CG animation” won Bronze in the Best Innovation category.

Last but not least Velitchka Nedialkova of ZDF was awarded a Lifetime Commitment Award.
